For years I have been transforming family photographs into art work paintings A friend said I should try “ to sell this stuff,” So after thinking about it for awhile, and years of remodeling houses, pain in my bones helped me to decide to “sell this stuff”.
I created a web site called 3dwoodengrave.com as a home based business to sell computer generated art works.
Why computer generated art works?
I am not a traditional trained artist. But years I have used various computer programs to create 3D modeling for remodeling homes. I started to add wall art to the 3D modeling to give the home that finish look. No home is complete without an art gallery on the walls.
Why I use digital art to create my art work?
As I said before, I am not a traditional trained artist. An artist and photographer start with a scene or model to begin the art process, the traditional artist than paints the scene or subject to a final painting adding shading, texture and paint strokes to the painting as he/she envisioned the final painting should look. A photographer does a similar process.
I use the same process to create my arts of work. The main difference is, I use 2 or 3 different computer software to complete the process.
The advantages of using a computer software are;
If I make a error on the painting, I can delete it, saving time and materials, and pass these saving to the customer. At the same time giving the painting that special look of a traditional painted work of art, using shading and the texture of the brush stroke.
In the end, the only thing that really matters is , does the painting convey a, feeling of what the artist sees.The brushstrokes may be on a tablet, but the finished work is still a 'painting' .
